Blah

A relatively boring school day.

Current IC time is: Sat Jul 06 15:09:41 2002
Right after school.

School hall — Eriol Gakuen

The school halls are probably the most boring place on Earth. They were designed that way. Neat rows of identical doors marked with class numbers, teacher offices or the like. Never mind that schoolkids tend to spend so much time here, never mind that the lessons bore some of them to sleep quite literally, the halls should be the last thing to distract children from learning.

A teacher directs two high-school guys dragging a table across the hall - what’d they need it for?*

Nawar

This girl has a curious mix of asian features.. her skin, a gentle milky brown. She stands taller than most of her peers, as if nature wanted to give her slightly slanted glowing hazel eyes a better view to admire the wonders in this world. While she’s by no means a heavyweight, all-around she does have a more filled out figure than many of her peers leading to a healthy set of soft curves. Her fingers, naturally long and delicate seem calloused, the nails cracked or worn down and likely caked with a few flecks of soil. A faint aroma of earth and plants surrounds her and the sturdy, woven cloth bag she never lets out of her sight.

Eileen

School time for Eileen Patterson has never been so much fun! Where else can the shy yet genki English-featured young brunette wear such a cute sailor fuku? It’s cosplay at school, and everyone’s doing it! Over her pale mint undershirt with it’s high collar, she wears Eriol Gakuen’s high school uniform, with wide blue collars and cuffs accented with gold piping, blue stockings, and shoes with buttons up the side! The rest of the outfit, aside from the blue pleats in her short skirt, is a pristine white, accessorized with a wide blue band wrapped lightly around her right upper arm, Eriol Gakuen’s crown logo emblazoned proudly over it, and a medal over her right breast, who’s ribbon also supports the blue and gold accent scheme. Eileen adds her own touches to the look, including a thickly braided ponytail that extends all the way down to her ankles, a small plastic SD Duo Maxwell keyfob hanging off her left hip, a Sailor V love chain bracelet peeking out from her left sleeve, and long bangs that can easily cover her left eye, and her entire face if she bows her head.

Rika

This girl fits the textbook definition of ‘cute redhead’, and while she’s unmistakably asian, her relatively pale skin and dark green eyes, coupled with flaming red hair cut in a pageboy style make it easy to forget about it, especially since there’s no sign of hair dye. She does seem to wear some makeup on her face, still posessed of soft, childlike features, but it’s hard to trace just what did she do with it - there isn’t much. Overally, she resembles a fox - lithe and slim, and generally small, since she’s rather short.

She is dressed in the Eriol Gakuen girl’s uniform - white jacket with blue sailor flap and cuffs, not to mention the tacky crown-shaped medal, white and blue short skirt and the long blue stockings with regulation white shoes. She looks unsurprisingly feminine and attractive in this attire, which was probably the initial idea. She’s dragging around a thick cloth bookbag, and a tiny Minolta Dimage Xi digital camera is hanging on her neck on a chain.

School’s just ended and the hallways are -packed- as everyone tries to get to either the exits or the various club activities the school offers. Nawar absolutely dreads this time of day, for the life of her she can’t get used to so many people all moving around in different directions at different speeds, sometimes stopping, sometimes talking. Its just one huge mess and she’s expected to gracefully glide through it like everyone else? Not gonna happen. With much humming, hawing and hiding (where possible) she very slowly makes her way through.. fear barely held checked on her face. Usually she manages without too much incident but this time, thump she goes sprawling to the floor as one of the larger 3rd year girls (although you could hardly call her that) crashes into her. Nawar gets to her knees and tries to stand up but a hand is blocking her way. “Oy, what were you doing in my way?” asks the girl in a hostile tone.

Eileen walks out of her classroom with a long stretching yawn with both her arms over her head, hands lightly balled into fists. Sitting still for sooo long is so bad for her back! As she finishes yawning, she steps to the side and places her hands on her back, then leans back. Ite! She takes a deep breath as she straightens, and then peers about, probably waiting for her best friend Rika.

Rika appears behind Eileen’s back, peering out from behind her taller friend’s shoulder - she was in the same class, naturally, just took a lot longer to gather her… um.. things. Which mostly included electronic junk she uses in class. She gets reprimanded for this regularily too. “Waiting for someone, hmmm?” she comments softly with a silly smile.

This is not something Nawar knows how to deal with. A stuttering, “A..ano, gomenasai. I didn’t mean t..” is stifled as the girl grabs onto her hair and drags her upwards, she has to scramble to keep from being wrenched directly to her feet. The fear on Nawar’s face is very evident now. The older girl has found a nice, fresh victim it seems.

Eileen blinks and actually jumps a little. “…haaa, riiika! you startled me…ano, i was waiting for you…” She blushes a bit, and lowers her head, something she’s been known to do whenever she gets embarrassed about her blush. She giggles a little. “…how do you keep doing tha…” She pauses for a moment, her thought cut off by a sound nearby. She looks up, still blushing, and has a look around. It takes her a few sweeps of her head (likely swatting Rika unintentionally with her braided ponytail) before she finally notices what’s going on. “…ano…! rika…” She turns around, intending to point her friend in the direction of the conflict.

SNAP - what else did you expect? That’s the first thing Rika always does, without thinking, it’s a reflex. And thus the older girls are captured at the scene of crime. SNAP - SNAP - SNAP goes a camera right above Eileen’s shoulder. “Last time I checked, bullying was against the school rules.” Rika comments in a loud, high voice that pierces the corridor like a needle.

The older girl blinks in surprise at the first of the flashes and glares at Rika for the others. Pretty tough, none too bright she doesn’t think to go after the camera. After a few moments of rather dull thinking the bully shoves Nawar to the ground again and stomps off, “Lucky bitch.”

Once she’s released Nawar scrambles backwards and huddles in a corner clutching her bag to her chest, eyes wide and empty of tears only from shock.

Eileen goes over to Nawar, and crouches by her side, looking concerned. Wasn’t this the girl who helped her a while back? “…ano” She starts, then continues, “…ano…are you ok? She didn’t hurt you did she?” She pauses, then gets to her feet, and offers her hand to help the older girl to her feet. “…i can’t believe there are people like that even here…”

Rika makes a few more shots of the bully’s back. Blackmail material! Her face lights up with a winning smile for a brief moment before she lets the camera dangle back on the chain on her neck and looks at Nawar, “Aino-kun, I think you should report this.” she comments. “At least to our taicho.”

Kitatani Kit

This young female is a small dark haired teenager. Besides her small cheek bones, shoulder length, straight black hair, and thin black eyebrows, her bright pink eyes shine forth. If one were to look close enough, her eyes would definitely have contacts in, though her actual eye color would be unidentifiable.

For a moment Nawar’s eyes widen and shoot a look of terror at Eileen as she comes near. Soon however the face registers as a familiar one and her expression changes from one of fear to relief. A shaky hand reaches out to take Eileen’s and she is somehow able to rise to her feet, from there Nawar leans down and rests her head on the younger girl’s shoulder. “I don’t understand..”

Kitatani-san grins after she’s taken a few DEEEP breaths. Returning to the dungeon, I mean, to the halls of the school, she turns the corner and finds, “Aino-san, Patterson-san, and Maeki-san!” She lets out a big wave, brightly colored eyes staring at the situation unknowingly.

Eileen blinks then strokes her hands across Nawar’s back comfortingly. The poor girl must have been so frightened! “…a-ano…it’s ok now, aino-san…i don’t think she’ll be coming back….a-ano…i agree with rika though…you should report it…when you’re ok…” She adds the last after realizing how emotionally distraught Nawar is, and gives Rika a bit of a concerned glance. This is the position Kit finds Eileen and Nawar in, with Rika looking on in such a way. She doesn’t immediately notice their other classmate round the corner, but when she calls over, Eileen looks up. The silly oblivious gaijin doesn’t appear to recognize who’s calling her name.

Rika snaps off a picture of Kit too. Though it’d be strange if she didn’t - she does it all the time, even in class. “Hi, Kitatani-kun.” she greets back, “Looks like we got our own special bullies around here finally, I was wondering when’d that happen.” she comments rather dispassionately.

Nawar is mostly silent, her head still awash with terror and disgust at what had just happened. Inside, behind the clumsy exterior does lie a bright mind, it is simply still unable to express itself to the outside world.. to the suggestion of reporting the incident she manages a soft ‘un’, still for some reason no tears fall.. she simply rubs her hand softly against the fabric of her bag. Taking comfort in the familiar feel, “What happened.. why did she..?”

Eh, Kit probably hasn’t hung out with Eileen that much anyway, but we all know the classmates at least a bit. “Oh, ano, is everything okay?” She looks around very concerned. She doesn’t know what’s wrong but figures that something is up. Why else would Nawar look so distraught. When Rika speaks though, Kit sighs. “Was it a guy or a girl? If it is one of those guys I swear I’m going to castrate them.” She shakes her head obviously having had one of the boys suck days.

Eileen continues holding Nawar gently, hoping the poor girl doesn’t get traumatized by the event. Poor thing. “…ano…it was a girl…though she was big enough to be a guy…”she sighs softly. She nods softly to Rika’s words, and says, “hai…i can’t believe there are bullies here…i thought japan was lucky enough not to have them in anything but gangs…” She sighs. “that one looked about as bad as some of the americans i know.”

Rika comments, studuing the pictures she took on the tiny screen of her camera, “Actually, usually the teachers here at Eriol Gakuen are pretty strict about it… this idiot now risks just getting kicked out of school, and right before Juken too…” Getting kicked out right before the exams that determine your college would hurt a lot.

Forcing herself to harden, Nawar breathes deep once then steps back from Eileen. Bowing slightly to her in thanks, “arigato patterson-san.. maeki-san, you too. you saved me from that.. …girl.” In her quiet voice she struggles in vain for a word to describe the bully, others might have called her animal but no animal would be so cruel with no reason.

Yeah, they would, but who cares about college when you have such a cool job! Ahem Kit smiles softly. “Which one was it? Was she in our class?” She might know a bully? AAAAHHH! Calm. Kit looks frazzled for a moment and then nods. “Yeah, that’d be bad I guess.” She feels badly for Nawar. If she knew the girls better she’d offer having a counter strike outside of class.

Rika comments, without taking her eyes off the tiny camera screen, still studying the pictures. “She isn’t. She’s definitely one of the third year high school sector, don’t know which class though.”

Kitatani Kit turns and smiles. “Well, I have to go take a test. I hope you are all okay!” She wavers and runs off.

Not wanting to be left alone in case that girl comes back Nawar nods to Eileen’s suggestion. “Onegai..” then a pause as she considers it, “Demo, I live down in Roppongi, if its too far..” Her voice has gained back most of its strength, though there’s a very slight edge to it.

Eileen nods solemnly and says, “…ano, if you’d like, it shouldn’t be a problem. i live all the way in okutama, so roppongi isn’t far at all…” She trails off and looks over at Rika, silently asking her friend what she thinks.

Rika shrugs quietly, lets the camera dangle back on the chain and follows the two girls out.
