Only after several long, arduous hours spent debugging stylesheets you may truly recognise the miracle of communication, where people actually speak and actually understand what the other’s saying — or at least pretend to.

It’s in fact a much more infrequent occasion than one might think.

It’s not that everyone interprets the stylesheets differently, though this problem was much more prevalent in the past — it’s the fact that the standard only suggests default values, but doesn’t dictate them, and everyone has different default values. Down to the the background page color — white or gray? What is it on your browser? Which was it a couple versions ago?
