Just occured to me… Fifteen years ago, never, ever there was a conversation regarding “what we all might be doing in ten or fifteen years time”
I just never had anyone to have such a conversation with and was always too smart to confide in random acquaintances.

I looked through the dictionary to find the word ofuda many a time, without success. Silly me! Turned out I forgot to take off the o- prefix, so it’s just “fuda” which means “token”.
Funny, how people adopt this word to describe what are really nothing but cards with magic words and symbols on them. It appears that there really isn’t anything special to these implements common throughout Japanese magic traditions other than the writing.

Homo sapience.

Opera 7.21 may squish images a few pixels while scrolling, in the direction of scrolling, especially if they have borders. I thought it was an optical illusion again, but measuring the screenshot confirms that this is in fact true.
As if we didn’t have enough browser problems.

There’s at least twenty weblogs called My hovercraft is full of eels.

“Far, far away on the horizon, a giant complex of extremely odd buildings could be seen, built from components that would constantly shift against each other. The whole system very much resembled a meat grinder, made with a multitude of moving parts, even though it did not resemble one in shape, structure, nor even color or material, but nevertheless, there was something incredibly sinister in this eternal motion, tirelessly mechanical, not fitting a place people live in, some persistence, which should have been put to a better use.”
– The Scariest Fairytale, beginning of chapter 7.
