Я пока не знаю что это должно быть. Осторожно, живая наука и так далее. А может и вовсе не наука, но наукой, как известно, называется то, что делает человек, имеющий статус ученого. Я совершенно уверен что во всем этом есть рациональное зерно, но пока не вижу где тут ручка у этих грабель, которая позволила бы мне это дело ухватить и употребить на благое дело.

Здравствуй, дедушка Юнг, мы давно не виделись, и все что я говорю здесь сейчас и говорил ранее, покажется тебе, наверное, невероятной ересью. К сожалению, прочитать все твое собрание сочинений мне просто некогда, потому что на английском его читать — пошло, немецкого я не знаю, а русских переводов в цифровом виде мне до сих пор не попадало в руки. А бумага идет лесом.

There’s a huge difference between bemoaning past mistakes and just recollection of times in the past where things went wrong.
As a rule, I don’t bemoan past mistakes much. But I spend the majority of my time remembering the past. It somehow seems richer than the current mess, which mostly consists of petty inconveniences. Whether this is just an effect of memory, which might somehow keep emotional charge better than it does the factual events remains a question for science which I’m not very skilled at.
But do I really live in the best of the worlds, one where the paths I took work best for survival? Reminds me of that joke about KGB breaking the RC5 algorythm by blowing up the complete supply of nukes if a randomly picked key didn’t work. This would result in all parallel worlds where the key did not work being extinguished, leaving only the special lucky one standing.
Something didn’t happen that should have. Probably because I wasn’t there for it to happen.
Paradoxically, to get out of this mess, I need to be energetic enough to try at least one of the methods for detecting randomness fluctuations that might work, or devise more of them, but to feel better I first need to get out of this mess.

If I remember anything correctly about catastrophe mathematics, it describes how slowly and progressively increasing the pressure on a system causes abrupt, “catastrophic” changes to the system state. However, the textbooks don’t go further than describing a two-dimensional system, they do mention multi-dimensional arrays of system state, but only in passing.
Yes, the math is essentially the same. I could describe a humane-behaving AI with probably as little as eight or ten dimensions, I think - the emotional component at least. But dealing with such objects is very hard, debugging something like this will be hell. This won’t be practical.
Today’s million dollar question is: Can we simplify the multidimensional modelling enough so that it can be actually dealt with? Can we, instead, just collect data by asking sample people numerous questions about the most interesting points in multidimensional space? Will the resulting behavior patten have anything to do with reality rather than their imagination?
Oh, and a trillion dollar question: Just where the social imagination of reality begins and social reality ends? We divide between ‘official fiction’ and ‘actual social reality’ but where is the boundary where unofficial fiction stops being actual social (not personal) reality?
This could be vitally important.
